How to fix a 5.5 hp Tecumseh vertical engine that has oil getting in the air filter?
Just behind the carburetor is a small breather with two small bolts holding it on
It's about half an inch tall, and 1 1/4 inches wide with a rubber tube going from it to the intake.
Someone may have installed it upside down.
Take it off and look at it carefully. You'll see one or two VERY small holes in the corners of it on the inside.
Those are drain holes. The go down to let oil drain out of the breather back into the engine.
Replace your air filter too.If it's plugged up or wet, it will make the engine run like crap.
